spayed/neuter

 March 5,11
I had my kitty  Spayed the other day,it is now day two of her being home and she is still a little mad at me.
I dropped her off at the vet at 8am and picked her up at 4:30pm.She was drowsy when she tried to move around and she slept the hole first day and night, she could not pee,eat ,walk much, meow, or eat much. She was very unpleasant to be around also.
Its the 2ed day now and she's walking, meowing, eating, getting on the window seal and all.She still is a little unpleasant ,but she started cuddling again now that she feels better.
This has been very interesting to research and experiences, with my own pet.It has been awhile since i owned a cat, and my parents didn't have are cats fixed until 1 batch of kittens.I also never payed that much attentions being a active teen and all.
Now that i am older and have gotten very involved in my community and the aware of the problem of strays and Farrel cats.I made sure to get her fixed.

Witch comes to the encounter of how i met my cat and why me and my boyfriend decided to adopt her.In the spring of 2010 we had notice a lot of stray and Farrel cats wondering looking for scraps around the neighborhood we lived in.After calling the local pet catchers,
they said were just to busy to come and help.Come summer their were now kittens around. So me and others from the community gathered up some cages and caught as many as we could. My kitty was the first kitten to be caught.A tiny little blue gray shaking kitten that though we were going to eat her.We also caught her mother which later we found out that she had a fractured leg and a really bad abscess which we had treated. She went to a women house that was a shelter for abandon and Farrel cats, with a must spay/neuter policy.
I can only say that if you don't believe in having your pet spayed or neuter than you are being a very ignorant stupid person.Once a cat goes into heat their is nothing that will stop her from getting knocked up.Another reason you are being irresponsible is that their are now sexually transmitted diseases among cats such as                                            feline herpes virus(FHV)     Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV),   Feline (AIDS)  .and others.

Description
Fusing plastic bags to make "plastic fabric" is not the only way to use this material. Ironing ready-cut forms straight to the fabric (or knitwear in this case) proved to be a very fast and cool looking effect! This technique can be applied if you want to make your own House Of Holland-styled tees!

  1. Step 1

    Step 1
You need plastic bags, scissors, one sheet of non-sticky oven-paper and smooth surfaced knit. Test if the plastic is suitable for this kind of work before starting. I tested 8 different bags before finding the best one.
Step 1.:Cut the form from the plastic bag. Here I used two layers of plastic.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2
Step 2.: place the plastic form on the right size of the knit. Do not put any needles!

  3. Step 3

    Step 3
Step 3.: Place oven paper on top (non-sticky baking paper).

    1. Step 4

      Step 4
Step 4.: Hold iron on top for about 20 seconds (NO steam!). No need to press the iron. Check the paper once a while to make sure it does not burn.

    2. Step 5

      Step 5
      Finished plastic-bag-applique :)
I recommend only gentle hand wash and round shapes seem to work better than square.. The corners start coming off in a while.

    3. Step 6

      Step 6
Looks great with some VHS-tape added in the mix (has to have plastic underneath to attach propely). Wear with caution... The plastic starts coming off if the shirt is moved too much.. See the shirt stretches and the plastic does not. But if a loose tee like this it works, at least for one evening... This cannot be washed in water.
Maybe the best solution is to first melt one layer, let it cool down, then SEW a zic-zac along the edges of the plastic pieces. It might help the pieces to stay on better. Finally melt an identical second layer on to the first one with stitching so the two layers will be bound together and the stitching is covered. I have not yet tested this but to me it sounds like it could work!!

    4. Step 7

      Step 7
This technique can be applied if you want to make your own House Of Holland-styled tees!
Many have asked me can the plastic be washed in water and will it crack. I washed this tee very carefully by hand in water and the print stayed on surprisingly well. Plastic can handle water, but not the mechanical stress of thumbling around in a washing machine. Knits I do not water wash.
The plastic hardens when it cools down. It will crack eventually! The more layers you apply, the harder the plastic gets and the easier it cracks... The good thing is that it can be re-melted at any time. Thistechnique is more of an temporary effect that can be ripped off after one evening. The plastic comes off really nicely with out harming the garment. I recommend using this only on loose fitted clothing, because I noticed that the plastic comes off if the fabric/knit is stretched.

Fuse Plastic Bags and Make Some Fabulous Coasters!

Fuse Plastic Bags and Make Some Fabulous Coasters!

Fused Plastic Bag Coaster Assortment
Did you know that there is such a thing as trends in the world of crafting? Well, guess what, there is! And at the moment projects involving recycling materials are definately hot. Amongst those are anything using plastic bags, which sit for 1000 years in the trash heap before disintegrating! So to use them again before they meet their fate is certainly a commendable thing to do, and it just so happens to be fun and  free at the same time!
Serious crafters have been making fabric by fusing plastic bags and even sewing clothes and all sorts of  items from the fabric. As a way of introducing you to this idea, I've come up with a really simple and quick project that will leave you with something useful, coasters! So while I may now be to blame for a new stash of plastic bags at your house, you can also thank me for introducing you to something that's really quite exciting, at least I think so!
Fused Plastic Bags Pink Coasters

You'll Need:
  • at least 3 thick plastic bags (not for food)
  • an iron

Directions For Fusing Plastic Bags:

  1. Set the iron for 3.5 or near 'Rayon' setting.
  2. Cut handles and bottom seam off bags, and cut down one side seam to obtain a flat piece of plastic
  3. Depending on the thickness of your bags, you'll need about 6 layers, which is either 3 bags cut in half, or 6 bags totally disassembled and flat
  4. Lay a piece of un-printed paper on the ironing board, place your six layers on top of the paper, and another piece of paper between the iron and the plastic.
  5. Work in a well ventilated area as melting plastic can emit fumes!
  6. Working in sections, iron each section for 10-15 seconds. This should fuse the first few layers.
  7. Within the small sections, move the iron around as much as possible. If you hold the iron in one place for too long, you'll get dimples where the steam holes are. It is recommended to iron in straight lines to keep track of where you've been.
  8. Don't lift the iron to check the progress until you've counted 10-15 seconds, and then check on the sides.
  9. After working on one side, flip the plastic over and iron the second side too.
  10. Layer bags according to what you'd like to see on the outside.
  11. Decorative words and symbols from bags can be cut out and fused to your plastic fabric, though to protect them try fusing a clear piece of bag, the weight of a zip-loc sandwich bag, over the decorative element.
  12. Have fun experimenting, and you'll have enough to make coasters and some place-mats too!

To Make Coasters:
  1. Follow directions above to create a fused plastic bag fabric that is on the heavy side.
  2. Find a round object that is the size of the coaster you'd like to make and use that to trace circles onto your plastic fabric.
  3. Use a scissors to cut out the circles. Now you not only have something new for your home but maybe even a great very economical gift idea! You could make a ton of these in no time, and package them in beautiful square boxes or even place them in little pouches you've sewn from fused plastic fabric!
  4. Now you can proudly call yourself a bag lady!
Note: Clear bags with printed patterns are especially great for using as the outside layer. I made the butterfly coasters by placing another such bag over the bag with the butterflies, and I just love the layered collage-like effect that I created.
